This session will explore the connections between the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) and the Kansas Can School Redesign Project (Redesign). KSDE has been working on an updated KESA Rubric that incorporates the Principles of Redesign, in cooperation with the Accreditation Advisory Council and others. A draft of that work will be shared for discussion, along with plans for how and when to finalize and implement the updated rubric. Currently, both programs address continuous school improvement initiatives, but they focus on it from different perspectives and have sometimes used slightly different language to do so. This work is intended to try make the connections between the two more seamless for systems to implement.
